Essence 'Hello Autumn' Eyeshadow Palettes - Review

Ola loves! It's been a long time since I was this excited over a limited edition. Essence released a limited edition 'Hello Autumn' which was wonderful to behold: all the shades I adore, and all this in the cutest packaging ever. You can check out the entire collection HERE and HERE. Today I bring you the reviews of two eyeshadow palettes that are a part of this beautiful collection - they're so cute, right?

I love these palettes. The packaging is sturdy and strong , this is the same packaging as the Catrice Nude and Matt palettes. You get a sponge applicator with the palettes, but I've never been a fan of those so I don't really use them. I suggest using eyeshadow base with these palettes because it really makes the colors pop and last longer. When it comes to pigmentation, each shade is different. Some have stronger pigmentation, others have very weak pigmentation. When it comes to the shades that are not that pigmented, it makes a world of difference if you apply them with a wet or a damp brush. No two shades are identical in these two palettes, though some may look similar. Both these palettes offer shades with sparkle and glitter particles, so they will not suit you if you're trying to avoid glitter. These shades really stand out. Application is very easy, and the shades are easily blendable and easy to work with. Overall, I've fallen in love with these palettes. Price: 32,90 kn
Essence, Hello Autumn, eyeshadow palette, 01 Walk in the park
This one is my favorite out of the two. I love the Ombre look of the palette, and I think you all know I'm a nut for golden and bronze shades. The texture of the eyeshadows is dusty and this palette contains lots of tiny sparkles and glitters and shimmer. Now on to the individual shades, and swatches are below:
1: White and shiny (has tiny sparkles that shimmer in the sun), with a pearl-effect and a metallic-like shine, has weaker pigmentation (suitable for brow-bone area)
2: A gold shade with a bronze undertone, good pigmentation, contains tiny shimmer particles
3: This is a 'true' bronze shade, though a bit lighter; has good pigmentation, a metallic-effect, and contains tiny gold shimmer
4: Copper bronze shade, great for the crease area, contains tiny shimmer particles
5: Brown with a gold shine, has a metallic effect, good for the outer V-corner
6: Brown-oak shade, with metallic effect and silver sparkles (has a silver shine), good pigmentation

Essence, Hello Autumn, eyeshadow palette, 02 Keep calm & go for a walk
At first I wasn't sure if I should get this palette or not (since I'm not a big fan of green eyeshadow), but the bronze shade (no.3) makes it worth it to me. I think this palette is visually less appealing than the first one (or maybe that's just me, since I love bronze shades), but it's still cute. A lot more glitter and shimmer in this palette, though. Individual shades review and swatches are below:
1: Shimmery white shade with a pearl effect and a strong metallic effect, very strong white tone, good for the inner corner of the eye, very dusty
2: Yellowish golden shade, with a metallic effect, dusty, somewhat weaker pigmentation
3: A dark bronze with gold sparkles, has strong pigmentation, contains tiny shimmer particles, this is my favorite shade from both palettes
4: An 'evil' shade of green (a villain's shade), strong metallic effect, easy application, good pigmentation
5: Weak green shade, contains lots of gold sparkles, has a metallic-like effect and oil-spill effect (color-wise), has the weakest pigmentation in this palette, suitable for the lower lash-line
6: Black with a blue glow, contains visible gold glitter, has super strong pigmentation, and it almost has a matt-finish
What essence says about these products: ''The eyeshadow palettes offer six long-lasting autumn colors in the combinations gold-brown and beige-green with various effects ranging from semi-matt to metallic. The double-ended applicator is included in the set and guarantees easy application and blending.''
Comparison: Though some shades may seem similar on the promotional photos, or on the swatches, no shades are true 'twins'. For instance, shade 3 from 02 palette is not the same as shade 4 from 01 palette (shade 4 is brighter), and it's still not similar to shade 5 from the 01 palette, because shade 5 has weaker pigmentation.
Shade 2 from the 02 palette is not the same as shade 2 from the 01 palette (this one is more golden), nor is it similar to shade 1 from the 01 palette (this shade is more white, and it's better pigmented).
The shades that are the most similar are 1 (01) and 1 (02), however, 1 (02) is a tad whiter (better pigmentation), and 1 (01) is more nude, or beige white.
I'd say if you're into eyeshadows that have a matt finish, or if you want very strong pigmentation, you will not find what you're looking for here. However, if you're a palette nut like me, if you love gold and bronze shades, this is something to buy. I think the 01 palette will be great to take with me when I'm traveling.

The rest of the collection is also to die for, everything is cute and hard to resist. This collection has already hit Muller stores, and it's just arriving to dm's in Croatia. Will you grab anything? Other than the palettes, the things that have caught my eye are the eyebrow sets, blushes and the gorgeous bronzer. Overall, this has to be the prettiest essence limited edition in the last 2 years. Would you agree?

A Huge Catrice Dupe Alert: Lipsticks

Hey guys! The newest Catrice products are slowly making their way to our stores, and I was so excited about the two brand new matte lipsticks (MATTador and MATTraction). I do have other Catrice matte or semi-matte lipsticks (limited editions, etc.), so I was very excited about these two new ones. However, it turns out - I already have them! When I went to the store, I brought with me my other Catrice matte lipsticks (to compare and see), and they're exactly alike.

So, let me say what's going on here. Do you remember a limited edition from the end of last year, it was called ''Feathers and Pearls''? Well, this Catrice limited edition had three semi-matte/matte lipsticks available. I got two shades: Roaring Red and Josephine's Joy. This limited edition was extremely popular and the lipsticks were amazing. I brought these two shades with me to the store, just to compare them with the newest matte aditions (I had a gut feeling, what can I say). The two new lipstick shades Catrice has released are 350 MATTador and 360 MATTraction (what great names, right?). Anyways, let me break it down for you:

Roaring red is the exact same shade and texture as MATTador.
Josephine's Joy is the exact same shade and texture as MATTraction.
Just look at the photos and judge for yourself.

Let me be very clear: these lipsticks are AMAZING, that's not the issue here. The shades are classic stunning reds. The texture is matte, but doesn't dry out lips. And they're long lasting. However, all I wanted to do is give a heads-up to all of you that already own these lipsticks, but you just don't know it yet.

A part of me is happy: I was smart enough to remember that Catrice sometimes does this, and saved myself from getting the exact same product. I am also happy that these amazing and beautiful shades are available AGAIN for all of you who missed them in the limited edition.
A part of me is sad: I will not be getting two new lipsticks. *insert sad face*
Anyways, look at the photos and tell me what you think.

I sincerely hope this post was helpful to some of you. To the rest, these two shades (MATTador and MATTraction) are amazing and gorgeous and you should make them a part of your collection. I guess I'm not very angry with Catrice; I would have been angry had I purchased this again. I guess they do a lot of limited editions, and when they see that some products are very good and popular, they introduce them to the standard range. If you're a Catrice fan, follow me on BLOGLOVIN, because I got my hands on the GORGEOUS Absolute Matt Eyeshadow Palette, and the review is coming soon.

Thanks so much for reading, leave your thoughts below.

Essence, Hello Autumn, Limited Edition Preview

From September until October 2014 a new essence Limited Edition ''Hello Autumn'' will be available. Obviously, I am an eyeshadow palette nut, and will HAVE TO get these two gorgeous palettes. Eyeshadows in the palettes have various effects, ranging from semi-matt to metallic. Loving it! I also adore the eyebrow sets. Btw, all the nail polishes from this edition are thermo. Photos below:

So, are you LOVING the eyeshadow palettes? I mean, they're just stunning! I do not NEED them, but I just have to get them! As far as lip creams go, they have the same packaging as the old matt lip creams, so maybe they have the same formula as well? It seems like they're very similar. Thanks for stopping by, see you later ;)

Review: Essence Blush Brush - Bloom me up! Collection

Type of product: Stippling make-up brush
Brand: essence, limited edition, bloom me up!
Name of product: blush brush, 01 chaising lacy
Price: 26 kn (3 euro)
Where to purchase: dm (sold out in Muller)
Rating: 10/10
Would I repurchase: Yes.
Opinion: I was going back and fourth with this one (if I need it or not). When I got to Muller they were already sold out, so I was surprised when I saw it in Dm. I picked it up and I'm so glad I didn't miss out on it. So far I've used it to apply blush, and it's amazing. It's very easy to control what the bristles do, so it would be great for contouring as well. The bristles are very dense and the brush is compact. I've washed it and it holds up well, surprisingly it dries fast considering how much hair there is. Oh yeah, and the brush comes with a little 'brush guard', so it's easy to store it when you're traveling.
Conclusion: This is a great little product. If you're looking for a stippling brush, or a precise blush brush - this is for you. Get it while they're here, because these sell out fast (that's why I've warned you ladies about it on my twitter). I'm so glad essence came out with this product, because a brush of this shape can be difficult to find in regular stores.
What essence says about this product: ''Thanks to its extremely fine bristles, this brush picks up blush particles perfectly and transfers them all to your cheeks. The straight shape of the brush makes application really easy and it’s ideal for shading and modeling the contours of your face. The bright pink adds a cheerful touch of color to the world.''
Check out the entire collection HERE and HERE.
So, is this brush for you? Will you grab one? Do you already have a stippling brush and what do you use it for? Let me know in the comments, and thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to follow me!

Balea - Sunny Peach Dusch Sorbet Review

Product type: Shower gel
Brand: Balea by dm
Product name: Sunny Peach, dusch sorbet
Price: 12 kn
Rating: subjective 5/10; objective 7/10
Recommendation: Not for you if you want a product that foams up easy and is convenient to use in a hurry. Good for you if you want a shower gel that smells good and helps you relax, and you're not in a hurry.

Overall, I am not in love with this product. The scent is amazing; however, it does not foam up as quickly or as much as I'd like. It does not foam up in the hand-to-body contact, you have to rub it in between palms, so that's not convenient to me for a 5-minute shower. However, it leaves my skin feeling smooth and the smell is very relaxing. The name ''sorbet'' implies that it's meant as a relaxation tool, not so much as something to use in a hurry. Also, you have to squeeze the bottle very hard for the product to come out. So I don't know, think it over and decide if this is for you. I will not re-purchase because it's not something I'm looking for, but it will not go to waste, I'll eventually use it up. I just wish the texture was creamier and the product foamed up better.
Did you try this product? Do you like it?

xoxo, Jelena

Catrice 'Meet Rosy' And 'Meet Nudy' Matte Lipsticks

If you follow my twitter, you know how excited I was about this LE collection by CATRICE, “Une, deux, trois”. Check out the collection HERE. It features matte lipsticks, nail polishes, duo blushes and a mini kabuki brush. I've decided I do not like the duo-blushes, so I will not get them, but they seem to be amazing, just like (almost all) Catrice blushes. I got the two lipsticks (Velvet Lip Colours) I wanted the most - and I ended up being very disappointed. The colors look amazing swatched - but not on me. Ok, I guess I should have known with the 'Meet Nudy' that it's a hard-to-pull-off shade. But 'Meet Rosy' looks weird on me as well. And that's just the shade. The texture is not nice at all. They are very chalky, they leave little particles across the lips, they're difficult to apply, and they smell (and taste) kind of strange. If I want to make them work, I have to really moisturize and prepare my lips, and dab the lipstick on with my fingers. You really have to bend over backwards to make them work. To be brutally honest - I was in love with them - until I tried using them.
Gorgeous swatches above, right? But the texture, well, observe below.
Maybe it's me. Maybe I'm having a bad lip week. Maybe my lips are very dry. Maybe I'll love them in a week, but I wanted to write this post before these are completely sold out. I will try to make them work, so hopefully I'll get some use out of them. I am in love with the semi-matte lipsticks from the ''Feathers and Pearls'' Limited Edition collection by Catrice, but these are not for me. 'Meet Rosy' is sold out almost everywhere, so if you did not get it, don't cry. I might go back for 'Meet Cherry', because that one seemed to have a creamier formula than these two. 'Meet Berry' is far too dark for me, and as far as 'Meet Pinky' goes, it's a bold shade, so I'm not sure when I might wear it, and because the texture is difficult to work with, I will stay away from it. Did you try any of the lipsticks from the collection? Opinions?
A shame. If they were better, I'd get them all, look how gorgeous they seem:

Preview: 'Crème Fresh' by CATRICE

WHAT A GORGEOUS BLUSH! This Limited Edition collection by CATRICE is called “Crème Fresh'', and will be available from February. The blush is just breathtaking, but the rest of the collection is pretty BLA to me. Thank God for that, I will not be broke HAHA. The rest of the collection features eyeshadows (I dont like the packaging, don't really need them, so I'll skip), lip balms, nail polishes (with shimmer effect, so I'll skip), and hair, lash and brow colour (interesting, the pink color looks fun). Anyways, here are the pictures, what do you think of this collection? BLA or not? Here is a LINK to the entire collection on the CATRICE website.
