Ombre Nails: Tequila Sunrise

Hey everyone! This color combination is my favorite to wear, probably because it reminds me of a Tequila Sunrise, which is my favorite cocktail. I meant to post this in one of my 'Nail Fail' posts, but I decided it isn't that bad. The only problem is that Ombre doesn't look very good on very short nails.

Products used:
Avon, Nail experts, Peeling and brittleness solver: It sucks. Do not purchase.
Essence, colour&go, really old collection: I'm trying to use up some of my old polishes, that's why I've been using these cute polishes a lot in the last few months. I loved these polishes, the texture was the perfect density, they are fast drying, the brush suited me and the bottles were adorable.
Catrice, 060 Bloody Mary To Go: The perfect classic red. Gorgeous.
Catrice, 070 Caught On The Red Carpet: A darker shade, but still a classic red. This one is more vampy. Wonderful texture, fast drying, covers in one coat.
Essence, Studio nails, Top Sealer: I like the one with the high shine better.
There you have it: a quick, fun look. In my opinion, short nails do not look nice on photos - that's why I rarely post them. So I guess I have to let my nails grow back.

Have a Tequila Sunrise and thanks for stopping by !
Love, Jelena

Ombre Nail Look: White To Purple

Hey guys! Well, we all saw this coming: one more Ombre nail look from me. Does it seem like I'm always wearing Ombre nails? But can you blame me? My hands look so fun (or crazy? I'm gonna go with fun). What I'm loving about this look is the super shiny top coat that tied it all together.

Products used (from thumb until pinky):
Base coat: essence, Studio nails, XXL nail thickener: This base peels off in chunks if you wear it alone. I do not think it does much for my nails. I got it during the last sale, so it should no longer be available.
essence, nail art, Stampy polish, 001 white: This polish is great for stamping, but not great when worn alone. It cracks easily and is very streaky, and the texture is like rubber.
Maybelline, mini colorama, 26 candy bar: This is an old polish, but it's better than I remember (I'm trying to use up some of my older polishes). Surprisingly, it gives even coverage. I love this shade of bubblegum pink.
Catrice, 030 Meet Me At Coral Island: An old polish with even coverage. This shade is closer to orange than to coral.
essence, colour&go, old pink polish: I loved this old line better than the new one. And now the new one will be on sale (all the polishes are leaving), and the new polishes are coming out. I love essence polishes, there are great ones in their collection. This one has the best texture and covers in one coat.
Catrice, 120 Plum Play With Me: Another oldie, I'm wearing two coats. Gives even coverage, but it's too dark, the purple color gets lost and all you see is black.
essence, Studio nails, better than gel nails, top sealer: Loving this top coat! Top coats are very important when you're wearing Ombre nails - they tie everything together. This one dries insanely fast and it's so shiny.

So I wore yet another Ombre nail look. What do you think? To me, these look fabulous! I'm so wearing Ombre tomorrow as well! What do you think of this color combo?

Love to all, J.

Nail Look: Coral Polka Dots

Products used for this look:
1 x Essence Studio Nails 24/7 nail base: This base looks very good alone, it gives my nails a nice transparent matte look. However, it's not a good nail base because it gets pulled when you apply polish over it, so you're left with streaks on the nails. Also it provides no protection whatsoever.
2 x Catrice ''030 Meet Me At Coral Island'': This nail polish dyed my nails yellow/pink even though I had a base coat underneath. Yuck! I mean, the shade is great, but the quality of the polish - is not.
1 x Maybelline Polka Dots, no.197: Great product, it's fast drying and fun to use.
I loved wearing this look, even though unfortunately it chipped quickly. This is a Catrice polish I've had for a long time, and I just don't enjoy it: the shade is great, but the texture (and the smell) is not. But all in all, it's a fun everyday look - pretty cute, right?
Anyways, thanks for stopping by, don't forget to follow me.

Swatch: Essence Blush up! - Heat Wave

Happy Friday! Boy did I find a treat! The new Essence products are slowly making their way to our stores, and I got this lovely thing: Blush up!, shade 10 Heat Wave. It's a gradient powder blush, and the product has a matte-finish, no trace of glitter or sparkle in it (like some other essence blushes might have). The texture is smooth and glides on, and it's easy to blend. The pigmentation is sensational, and you only need a light dab on the brush. I payed 32 kn for this, and it's just gorgeous, I'm in love. Swatches below, I took photos with different lighting so you guys can see it properly. I'm so happy with this product.
What a fabulous product! Great ratio of price and quality and cuteness. The packaging is really sturdy - this baby can handle travel, and even impact. What Essence says about this product: ''colour-flow… the latest hair and fashion trend is finally reaching make-up, too! essence is bringing a cool and unique blush with a color gradient to the beauty stores. the silky, semi-translucent texture with subtle coverage gives your cheeks a gorgeous, fresh look.''
Packaging: 10/10
Texture: 10/10
Pigmentation: 10/10 (well, it's a translucent blush, but you don't want a blush to have the pigmentation of a theater-used eyeshadow, right?)

I got this at my local DM store. Now, I found it in one store, but I see not all dm stores have the new products out yet. I guess by the end of the weekend they'll all be stocked up. To read more about which store has this product out (in Zagreb), and what I think of the new essence products, follow me on Twitter. Now tell me, is this on your shopping list? What other essence products are you dying for?

Catrice Matte Lipsticks Comparison

Hey! I thought I might show my Catrice Matte lipsticks side by side, so you have a better idea of what they all look like. Like I've said many times, I love matte or semi-matte Catrice lipsticks, you get a quality product for a great price (33kn). All these lipsticks offer great pigmentation, easy application and breathtaking color. Anyways, here are the links to the reviews of these lipsticks:

Roaring Red  (from the 'Feathers and Pearls' limited edition collection) - HERE
ULTIMATE Colour Lipstick 260 It's A Matt World - HERE

I am hoping that the 'Feathers and Pearls' collection will be available at Dm or Kozmo stores later on, they always carry limited edition collections a few months after they were actually released. Fingers crossed! ;)

Catrice 'It's A Matt World' Lipstick Review

Hey! This week I'll post some lipstick reviews, and here's the first one. I already did a review of another Catrice Matt Lipstick, you can check it out HERE. I present to you Catrice ULTIMATE Colour Lipstick - 260 'It's A Matt World'. For some reason, it looks so orange-like on my swatches - it's really NOT ORANGE AT ALL. It's matt, and it's a bright classic red shade. I've had it for a while, I do prefer darker shades, but this one is a gorgeous classic red that's a must have in your collection. Application is easy, Catrice really provides us with great quality lipsticks. Because my pictures look so orange-like (the lipstick does have an orange undertone that is seen in bright sunlight, but in shade it's Rita-Hayworth-red), I give you a link to someone else's review that might show you (better than me) what this lipstick looks like: VERACAMILLA. I don't understand that language, but the girl's gorgeous, right? Overall, I am happy with this product and I am glad I got it.
Lipstick Grade: 10/10 Price: 33kn.
***I have since written a Catrice matte lipsticks comparison post - the link is HERE.
Later this week I'll post a comparison of all my Catrice lipsticks, so that might give you a better idea what this one looks like. This lipstick is part of the standard range, so I guess you guys must have seen it or tried it out by now. What do you think?

Catrice Matt About Pink Lipstick Review

Happy Friday! Today I'll talk about a lipstick that's an absolute favorite of mine. It's Catrice's ULTIMATE Colour 250 Matt About Pink. Yes, it's a matte shade. Great texture. The color is what sold me. It's a bright coral-pink shade. Yes it is more of a 'summer shade', but I don't care, I'll wear it all the time. This baby is miles away from the horror that is the beautyUK matte lipstick I wrote about recently - Matt About Pink will give you no problems with the application, it just glides on smoothly, doesn't leave little parts of product everywhere. You have to love it. Catrice lipsticks have very sturdy packaging. This baby was super cheap (33kn I think), and so worth the money. This is one of my favorite Catrice products yet. You know that feeling when you fall in love with a lipstick? LOL Well that's how I feel.
***I have since written a Catrice matte lipsticks comparison post - the link is HERE.
Do you have this lipstick? Catrice has three matte lipsticks in their range, and I think I might pick them all up. A girl needs lipstick, right? ;) What do you think about Catrice matte lipsticks?

Stamped Hearts

Happy Thor's Day! I'm wearing: two coats of Eveline MiniMax, shade 801. These polishes look great in the store, but I have not been enjoying them, their texture is very thick and they take a long time to dry. The stamping plate I used is by essence. This would be a nice look, but since I haven't been stamping for a while I forgot that you're supposed to wait a while before putting a top coat on. So that's the reason why my stamping is smudged. I don't think this would have happened had I waited longer.
Lately whenever I'd do stamping I would be so disappointed. Either the whole picture wouldn't transfer well, or I'd mess up and I wouldn't place the stamping on the same location on each nail so it would look lopsided. So in my opinion, stamping is difficult to work with IF you want or expect perfection. I see why there is a huge market for water decals. Those seem so much easier to work with. All in all I didn't enjoy this look - it doesn't match my personality. What are your experiences with stamping? Are you a stamping n00b too? ;)

Colorful Clouds On Pink

Hello and happy Wednesday! Here is a fun summer look I wore. I am in love with this hot pink polish - it was sent to me by the lovely N@ILBOX, you can check out her blog HERE. This is my first Gabrini polish, I do know they're very popular here. The smell reminded me of nail polishes from my childhood (weird, right?). Anyways, I'm wearing 2 coats, but 1 is enough. Picture of other nail polishes used in the bottom of the post.
Polishes used: some old essence color&go (I figure I might use these until they expire), Deborah Milano, Eveline miniMAX shade no. 801 (this shade looks gorgeous, I havent worn it solo yet), and the Gabrini, shade no. 366. Are you enjoying the summer ?
