Ombre Nails: Tequila Sunrise

Hey everyone! This color combination is my favorite to wear, probably because it reminds me of a Tequila Sunrise, which is my favorite cocktail. I meant to post this in one of my 'Nail Fail' posts, but I decided it isn't that bad. The only problem is that Ombre doesn't look very good on very short nails.

Products used:
Avon, Nail experts, Peeling and brittleness solver: It sucks. Do not purchase.
Essence, colour&go, really old collection: I'm trying to use up some of my old polishes, that's why I've been using these cute polishes a lot in the last few months. I loved these polishes, the texture was the perfect density, they are fast drying, the brush suited me and the bottles were adorable.
Catrice, 060 Bloody Mary To Go: The perfect classic red. Gorgeous.
Catrice, 070 Caught On The Red Carpet: A darker shade, but still a classic red. This one is more vampy. Wonderful texture, fast drying, covers in one coat.
Essence, Studio nails, Top Sealer: I like the one with the high shine better.
There you have it: a quick, fun look. In my opinion, short nails do not look nice on photos - that's why I rarely post them. So I guess I have to let my nails grow back.

Have a Tequila Sunrise and thanks for stopping by !
Love, Jelena

Swatch: Essence Blush up! - Heat Wave

Happy Friday! Boy did I find a treat! The new Essence products are slowly making their way to our stores, and I got this lovely thing: Blush up!, shade 10 Heat Wave. It's a gradient powder blush, and the product has a matte-finish, no trace of glitter or sparkle in it (like some other essence blushes might have). The texture is smooth and glides on, and it's easy to blend. The pigmentation is sensational, and you only need a light dab on the brush. I payed 32 kn for this, and it's just gorgeous, I'm in love. Swatches below, I took photos with different lighting so you guys can see it properly. I'm so happy with this product.
What a fabulous product! Great ratio of price and quality and cuteness. The packaging is really sturdy - this baby can handle travel, and even impact. What Essence says about this product: ''colour-flow… the latest hair and fashion trend is finally reaching make-up, too! essence is bringing a cool and unique blush with a color gradient to the beauty stores. the silky, semi-translucent texture with subtle coverage gives your cheeks a gorgeous, fresh look.''
Packaging: 10/10
Texture: 10/10
Pigmentation: 10/10 (well, it's a translucent blush, but you don't want a blush to have the pigmentation of a theater-used eyeshadow, right?)

I got this at my local DM store. Now, I found it in one store, but I see not all dm stores have the new products out yet. I guess by the end of the weekend they'll all be stocked up. To read more about which store has this product out (in Zagreb), and what I think of the new essence products, follow me on Twitter. Now tell me, is this on your shopping list? What other essence products are you dying for?

Catrice 'It's A Matt World' Lipstick Review

Hey! This week I'll post some lipstick reviews, and here's the first one. I already did a review of another Catrice Matt Lipstick, you can check it out HERE. I present to you Catrice ULTIMATE Colour Lipstick - 260 'It's A Matt World'. For some reason, it looks so orange-like on my swatches - it's really NOT ORANGE AT ALL. It's matt, and it's a bright classic red shade. I've had it for a while, I do prefer darker shades, but this one is a gorgeous classic red that's a must have in your collection. Application is easy, Catrice really provides us with great quality lipsticks. Because my pictures look so orange-like (the lipstick does have an orange undertone that is seen in bright sunlight, but in shade it's Rita-Hayworth-red), I give you a link to someone else's review that might show you (better than me) what this lipstick looks like: VERACAMILLA. I don't understand that language, but the girl's gorgeous, right? Overall, I am happy with this product and I am glad I got it.
Lipstick Grade: 10/10 Price: 33kn.
***I have since written a Catrice matte lipsticks comparison post - the link is HERE.
Later this week I'll post a comparison of all my Catrice lipsticks, so that might give you a better idea what this one looks like. This lipstick is part of the standard range, so I guess you guys must have seen it or tried it out by now. What do you think?

Ombre Heart Studs from KKCenterHk

Happy Holidays! When I did a review of KKCenterHk N.NAIL Heart Studs in White - 6mm Nail Art Decorations [NNAIL-DRN628] (product LINK), I wrote that I chose the white studs because it will be easy to paint them into any shade I wanted. So here is a look I promised using those studs. You can check out my original review of the Heart Studs HERE.
This look was easy to achieve - first I had to bend the hearts so they would match my nail shape (piece of cake), then I painted the studs with nail polish. I waited about 5 minutes for them to dry, and then I applied them to my nails using nail glue. I love Ombre effect everywhere, and I had so much fun wearing this look.
Nail polishes used for this look:
Base - 2 coats of Catrice's Limited Edition Neo Geisha Collection - C01 Discreet Artist
Yellow Heart - smart girls get more, no. 36
Tangerine Heart - Deborah Milano, 19 Sombrero Tan
Orange Heart - Essence colour&go, old collection
Red Heart - Maybelline Colorama, no.75
Yes, the hearts can be re-used, but there's no need for that, since I still have a ton of them left. You really get a lot with one purchase. Anyways, I am so happy with this product and with the final look. Do you like this look?
***KKCenterHk has sent me the N.NAILS Heart Studs for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.

Summer Sunset Ombre Look

Happy Monday everyone! So I dug up these photos, I wore this look during the summer. Sunset Ombre is my favorite nail look. This would have looked so much better if I did some black stamping over it, but instead I put glitter on, and sort of ruined it. Here's a photo of that:
I like it better without the top coat. Anyways, the polishes I used are all unavailable (I'm trying to use up some of my older polishes), EXCEPT for the one on the pinky, which is Maybelline Colorama no.75 (amazing texture and color, I recommend this one). The winter is upon us, so it's time to do white-to-blue ombre looks. Do you wear Ombre nails at all? Thanks for stopping by!

Balea Lip Balm Juicy Orange

Hey everyone! I got this limited edition lip balm in dm last week. It's called Juicy Orange. The packaging is cute and you get 10g of product for 10kn (around 1.5 euro). Now, as far as the smell/flavor goes, I wouldn't say it's orange...it's more tangerine gone bad, if you know what I mean. I really don't like the smell, personally I prefer vanilla or raspberry...but that's a matter of personal preference. The smell fades away after a while anyways. The product seems to be working good and keeps my lips moisturized. I'll be on the lookout for more cute lip balms from Balea.
This is the first Balea lip balm that I got. Have you tried them out before?

Sunset Ombre With Dots

This is an update to a look I posted yesterday. Link to that post is HERE, where you can find all the info on the products used. The dotting is done by essence's Stampy polish in black.
I do a lot of dotted looks, especially dotted ombre. I just enjoy them so much. What do you think about them ? Would you wear them?

Sunset Ombre

My original plan was to do an ombre look with dotting on it (that post is coming tomorrow). I thought I might do black dots on these nails and then paint the thumb black with dots of these four colors. Well I did that - and it looked horrible. Yikes! So I present to you this ombre, the infamous thumb excluded. ;)
The red shade is by Maybelline, no.75. Awesome texture, the new COLORAMA line is amazing!
Ring finger is by essence, from the old collection. Just a classic carrot shade.
Middle finger is by Deborah Milano, Pret A Porter, 19 Sombrero Tan. Great quality polishes.
The yellow is by Maybelline but it's from the old mini colorama collection - I'm so grateful that they've changed the formula, the old collection was not good. Not good at all. Strange bottles as well.

Come back tomorrow to check out the dotted version ;)

Colorful Clouds On Pink

Hello and happy Wednesday! Here is a fun summer look I wore. I am in love with this hot pink polish - it was sent to me by the lovely N@ILBOX, you can check out her blog HERE. This is my first Gabrini polish, I do know they're very popular here. The smell reminded me of nail polishes from my childhood (weird, right?). Anyways, I'm wearing 2 coats, but 1 is enough. Picture of other nail polishes used in the bottom of the post.
Polishes used: some old essence color&go (I figure I might use these until they expire), Deborah Milano, Eveline miniMAX shade no. 801 (this shade looks gorgeous, I havent worn it solo yet), and the Gabrini, shade no. 366. Are you enjoying the summer ?

Skittles With A Massive Ring

Hey guys! I'm so sorry for not posting for a long time, I have been so busy with college and the weather in Croatia has been horrible, snow and darkness... But now I'm back, and sunny weather is approaching, so I better get on with this post....This is a fun skittles look I wore a while ago. It's really not a winter look, but I just had to wear something colorful to get my mind off the cold. I used only Essence and Catrice products in this look (photo below), and they were all very slow to dry, I wasnt impressed. The ring is ridiculous, so I figured it matches this look very well haha. Enjoy the photos, see you in the next post! ;)
