Preview: Catrice, August 2014 - Nails

Catrice is releasing some new products in August, and here are some photos to show you what's coming.

These Luxury Lacquers, Liquid Metal edition, come in a new square bottle. There are four shades with a glossy finish and four with a matt finish. I think these will only be available in Muller stores. I'm excited about the matte ones.
These Luxury Lacquers are from the Million Brilliance edition. All shades look gorgeous, but my favorite is the blue one.
If this product really works, it will be one of my favorites ever - an Ombre Top Coat. I guess it's a type of sheer nail polish (I guess?) that darkens the color a bit. You know I love Ombre nails, right?

All the nail polishes look amazing; however because I have so many Catrice nail polishes already (over 40), I really should restrain myself. So, what do you think of the new polishes? Are you excited? Do you like the new square packaging?

Essence, Hello Rosy: Simple Nail Look

Hey everyone! :) Here's a quick nail look that I often wear - it's a great look for the summer.
Products used:
Avon, Nail experts, Peeling and brittleness solver, nail base: When I'd wear this pink sand textured polish without this nail base, my nails would chip quickly. This base helps my manicure last longer, and my nails do not peel when I wear it. HOWEVER, once I take off this nail base, my nails are very dry and they peel a lot more than before using this product. So I would not recommend it, though it prolongs my manicure. It's fast drying. Price is 30 kn.

Essence, colour&go, sparkle sand effect nail polish, no. 182 'Hello Rosy': All essence's sand texture nail polishes are a lot of fun to use and wear, and this is a shade I like very much. Two thin coats cover all. I wear this look a lot. You need a base coat underneath to make this polish last longer. It's fast drying. I think I would have liked this polish better if it was just the pink polish, without the red glitter in it, but somehow it works and my nails look very cute. I'm so happy essence has these polishes in their range. Price: 14 kn.

Essence, Nail art, Express dry drops: I use this all the time, to make sure my nails dry quickly. It's one of my favorite products, I highly recommend it. Price: 17 kn
I'm loving all these sandy polishes by essence - they're so much fun to wear (though it's a little tricky to remove them). I hope you guys are enjoying this sunny weather, until the next post,

love, Jelena

Pink Skittle Nail Look - Obnoxious Royal

Products used for this look:
Index: essence, colour&go, sparkle sand effect, no. 182, 'Hello Rosy' (new)
Middle: essence, colour&go, no. 104, 'Sweet As Candy'
Nail decorations: from a nail art wheel (Offertissima), some from an old essence collection
Ring: essence, colour&go (old collection)
Velvet powder: essence limited edition, Guerilla Gardening, no. 02 'Mission Flower'
Small: Yolizul, no.221
Nail sugar pearls: Catrice limited edition, Candy Shock, shade 'Cotton Candy'

I like the new sparkle sand effect polish from essence (hello rosy). It's a little difficult to apply evenly, but once dry, it looks great and has a great sandy texture, I recommend it. I loved wearing the velvet nail powder. It gives such a great feeling, it's not inconvenient or weird like I thought it might be. If you haven't, you should really try this form of nail art. The nail sugar pears I bought a long time ago in a limited edition collection by Catrice. I am only using it now for the first time, and I really like it. I was surprised how well they stick to the nail, and they can make it 2-3 days. I think these are great for wedding nail art.
At first I wore these nails (photo below), but I decided I don't like it, so I switched it up. Which of these two looks do you prefer? I like the look with nail decorations, I felt like I was an obnoxious Royal (in a good way, LOL).
What do you think of this look? Would you wear it? Which nail is your favorite? Let me know, and thanks for stopping by, don't forget to follow me on bloglovin, GFC, twitter or Facebook.

Baking Paper Nail Art - Hearts

This look is simple - I applied base coat, sand polish on the ring finger, and nude polish on the other nails. The hearts I got by using a method called 'baking paper nail art' that I learned from Demelza's World (LINK). There's only a little twist - I did not use scissors to cut out my shapes, instead I used paper crafting tools (photo below). I bought mine at Lidl a while ago, and I have 10 different patterns, some are too large to be used on nails, but the hearts are the perfect size. You can buy these paper art tools at any craft store (there are some at Muller).
I am in love with this technique. The craft paper tools give me lots of fun shapes to play with, and the nail polish is easy to remove from paper (just don't use matte nail polish, as they will not be easily removed from paper). Once the nail polish is removed from baking paper, I just press it on my nails and apply top coat. For more details on how to use this technique, go to Demelza's VIDEO.
Here is what my paper craft punch tools look like - I am having so much fun with these.

Polishes used for this look:
Ring finger: essence colour&go, 165 here's my number
Nude: Maybelline Colorama, no.254
Base: Eveline 8in1 Total action (this polish is not meant to be used like this, but I use it as a base now because if I use it the way it was intended, it causes my nails to hurt - so yeah, I do not recommend this product)
Top Coat: Essence Studio Nails, Top Sealer
Fast drying tool: essence, nail art, express dry drops

Have you tried baking paper technique before? Do you have any paper craft punch tools? What do you think of this look?

xoxo, Jelena

Me And My Lover And Heart Studs

Happy Friday! Here is an upgraded look of yesterday's post - click HERE to check out my review of this polish - it's essence's 156 'Me & My Lover'. The heart studs are from KKCenterHK (N.NAIL Studs Heart White 6mm Nail Art Decorations [NNAIL-DRN628]). To read more about the heart studs, and how I use them, click HERE, and click HERE to check out this product.
I liked this look so much better before I put glitter on the hearts - the gold glitter was a bad match for this look, I liked it so much better just simple, white, as they are. What do you think?

Swatch: Essence Sparkle Sand Effect - Me And My Lover

If you don' know already, all three essence sparkle sand effect nail polishes are leaving, and two new shades are arriving (I already swatched the grey one on my blog: LINK). This polish is called '156 me & my lover'. You need to apply 2 coats. This one does have a sand texture, but not half as good as the grey one - it's a little bit sandy, but with quite a few bald spots. I'd recommend applying 2 thin coats to get a better sand texture. Removal of these polishes is difficult, you have to apply the same technique as when removing glitter.
Overall, this one is not a favorite of mine. I love sand effect, but this color is too much of a light-red for me to like it. The products is good, I just wish it was a darker shade. I like dark, rich colors. I hope essence will put out more darker sands - dark red, dark navy blue, etc. Right now this product is on sale (in Croatia essence products are on sale only in DM stores (not in Muller or in Kozmo yet), and Catrice are on sale in Muller stores).
Are you sad this product is leaving? Did you try out essence's sparkle sand effect polishes?

KKCenterHk N.NAIL Heart Studs Review

Happy Sunday! Today I will talk about a KKCenterHk product - N.NAIL Studs Heart White 6mm Nail Art Decorations [NNAIL-DRN628]. You can find out more about this product on this LINK.

Before they arrived I read that some girls said they were too big and kept sticking out. Well, I didn't have this problem, and the reason is, YOU NEED TO BEND THEM. And that's so easy to do. I placed the stud on the edge of a table, and curved an edge (or both edges) of the stud using a ruler. Easy as pie. They fit perfectly, and you don't have to use a lot of force to bend them. And bending didn't damage them at all, so don't worry about that. ;)

I used nail glue to attach them, so they were fixed well. I wouldn't recommend using them without nail glue (for instance, just placing them on your nails while the polish is still wet) because I don't think they will stay in place. They are big so they need to be really well attached. Overall, I am happy with this product. I think they're great for a special occasion (prom or a wedding), but you can also use it to spice up a simple everyday look. Can you reuse the hearts? Yes, but there's no need to do that - there is a lot of them in the package so no need to save them (there were like 65 hearts in my package). If you like hearts, I'd say this is a great purchase.

I plan on doing more looks with these, because you can paint on the hearts, turning them into any color you want (which is why I chose the white hearts, they're a better canvas), or you can stamp on them. I'm having so much fun playing with these. Just a little tip - I would suggest bending them BEFORE you apply the polish. More of that to come in some future posts. UPDATE: Follow this link to check out more posts featuring these studs: LINK.
The polish I'm wearing is essence's 165 Here's My Number, follow this LINK to read more about it.
Have you tried any KKCenterHk products yet? Did you like them?

Here's My Number

Happy Friday! I'm wearing Essence's polish, shade 165 'Here's My Number'. It says on the polish that it has a 'sparkle sand effect', and it sure does! This polish is amazing. Beautiful texture and color, it's really breathtaking. I love wearing it. Even has great drying time. The downside is, this polish will last you 2-3 days, and then it will start chipping. Maybe it's just me, I've only worn it once. But I don't think you'll have this problem if you have shorter nails. Mine are longer so maybe that's the reason.
I know a lot of you have already tried sand effect nail polish. Did you like it?
