Mahidevran Sultan Nail Art

Hello ladies! For a long time I was obsessed with a turkish telenovela, called 'Muhtesem Yuzyil'. From all the female characters (and there are a lot), my favorite (and to me, the most beautiful) was always Mahidevran Sultan. She is portrayed by a turkish actress Nur Fettahoglu. In the show the female characters wear gorgeous costumes and amazing pieces of jewelry - but no nail polish (because historically they didn't have nail polish 500 years ago, at the time the show takes place). I always wondered what sort of nails the ladies would wear if they had the option. So I created this look to honor the most beautiful character.

Products used:
All Nails:  1 coat, Catrice LE Neo Geisha, 'Discreet Artist'
Index and Small: 1 coat, Smart Girls Get More, no. 115
Nail Art jewels: random nail art wheel
I know croatian ladies have heard of this show - are there any fans out there? Who was your favorite? Hurrem? Let me know, and thanks for stopping by,

love, Jelena

Blue Glitter Skittles - Nail Look

Products used in this look:
All Nails: essence 'nail colour 3' collection, 1x 'Midnight Date', 1x ' City That Never Sleeps'
Thumb:  smart girls get more, no. 142 (limited edition, but still available)
Index: smart girls get more, no. 40 (applied with sponge)
Middle: smart girls get more, no. 115
Ring:  Maybelline Colorama, Polka Dots, no. 197
Small: Deborah Milano, Cracking, no. 03

Hey everyone! This was such a fun look to wear. First I applied 1 coat of essence's 'Midnight Date' (what it looks like: HERE), then I applied 'City That Never Sleeps' over it. 'Midnight Date' is stunning by itself, but the second polish (purple/green flakes) gives it an extra oomph. If I had worn it alone, that would have been enough, because it looked spectacular, but I decided to do some skittles. All the smart girls nail polishes used here are really high quality, in general their glitter polishes are really great, and I recommend getting them. Shade no.115 (blue glitter) is my favorite, it's so rich in color. Right now these are available in DM stores, and you can choose between gold, blue, purple or green glitter - all are amazing. This Maybelline topper is also quite good, but the background in this look was too dark to see it in all its glory.

What do you think of this look? Would you wear it, or is it a little too much? I think my favorite finger is the middle one - the blue glitter took my breath away. Anyways, thanks for stopping by, and see you soon!

xoxo, Jelena

I did a similar look a short time ago, but the colors ranged from yellow to red - I liked that look better than this one. These colors don't agree with me. What do you think -  Yay or Nay?

***KKCenterHk has sent me the N.NAILS Heart Studs for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.

Why Does This Remind Me Of A Turtle ?

Ok, can anyone explain to me why this look reminds me of a turtle? I dont think it has anything to do with turtles...right? Anyway, here I'm wearing 2 coats of Eveline's Mini Max no.808 (a beautiful minty shade, but I'm not liking it very much, it has a very thick texture), and the blue dots are by Deborah, no.30 'Electric Bluejeans' (old collection).
Until next time, have a great day ;)

Blue Ombre Upgraded

Hey guys! Here's an upgrade of the 'Simple Blue Ombre' look I posted a few days ago, you can find it HERE, along with the info about all the polishes I used. After wearing the ombre look for a few days I got tired of it and decided to spice it up. I added essence's Studio Nails Top Coat and dotted over that. At first I wanted to do big polka dots, but I didnt like that (there are two photos of that in the bottom of the post), so I ended up adding the smaller dots and I just loved it. It was so much fun to wear.
Which one do you prefer, the final look or the polka dots? Let me know ;)

Simple Blue Ombre

Hey guys! Very simple look today: blue ombre, 2 coats each polish. I love wearing Ombre, though my mom does not approve hehe. Polishes used:
  • thumb: S-he no. 121/295
  • forefinger: Max Factor mini 37 Prussian Blue
  • middle finger: Essence Multi dimension 40 Groovy (old)
  • ringfinger: Deborah 27 Turquoise Fever
  • pinky: Ceborah 29 Blue Paradise

Do you wear ombre often? Anyway, hope you're all enjoying the beautiful weather! I am! See you soon !

Honey Crystals With Navy Blue

Hey all! Really simple look here: the navy color is by S-he, #295, one coat, amazing navy shade. The gold glitter is from Maybelline's old collection 'Mini Colorama', #48 Honey Crystals, which I applied using a sponge. No top coat on these pictures, but I'd recommend using top coat because the Maybelline polish is very rough in texture and it will get caught on clothes. Sorry about my dry hands, the spring is finally here so hopefully this will get better. Anyway, hope you're all well and I'll see you guys soon in another post.

Midnight Date Gorgeousness

Hey guys! This gorgeous blue shade is a polish by Essence, from the 'nail colour 3' collection. The shade is called 'midnight date'. This is the first time I'm trying one of these double-polishes, and as far as the shade goes, it's beautiful. It's a magical dark blue, it really does look spectacular. The downside is - this baby is a chipper. I'm telling you, it will last you a day and a half...TOPS! I wore it with no top coat, and that's the mistake. Essence has an amazing top coat  from the 'studio nails' line, so if you put that on top of this, you should be fine. I was really disappointed, I am in love with this shade, but it has such bad durability. Too bad.... :(
Despite the chipping, I'd still recommend you get it - I havent seen a blue shade as gorgeous as this one in a long time! Until next post, take care! ;)

My First Mat Polish

So the other day I noticed in a store a mat polish on discount, and I decided to pick it up because I've never tried them out before and was curious what it would be like. I bought Deborah's Sense Tech 100% Mat, shade 03. Though in the bottle it appeared more blue, it's a very dark blue, almost black. The first day I wore it I was amazed, I though it was sensational...however the down side of this polish is not very good durability - it will look great for 2 days TOPS, and then it will start to chip. Like, huge chunks will chip off. The reason I did some stamping on it was just to see what it would look like. I think stamping would look awesome on mat polishes, I just need to get a better hang of these things LOL (since I made so many mistakes doing this stamping hehe). Anyways, I'd recommend this polish, as long as you know it will last 2 days on your nails, and after that...not so much. :( If I'm correct these will no longer be available. Which is good, the rest of Deborah's polishes kick ass. Here are some photos before the (criminally bad) stamping took place, and I hope you enjoy them and have a great week! ;)

A little bit of sparkle goes a long way

Hey girls! So in my last post I spoke about how I wasnt too crazy about the last 'Smart girls get more' polish I tried out - well I got this new one and I'm back in love with them. At first I wore this look without the sparkle - see this photo:
..but then I looked at it and thought it needed something more...so I did this simple gradient effect with the glittery polish and I loved it. The polishes used are: Maybelline mini Colorama -no.96, Party Blue (on the ring finger, I havent used Maybelline polishes for a while, but I have to take them out again, this color looked great!), Max Factor no.37 Prussian Blue - I think I'll be wearing this during the winter, I love wearing the darker colors during the cold weather....and the last one 'Smart girls get more', no. 40 - smart girls polishes are a bit watery which makes them PERFECT for gradient manicures...I have to get more of their sparkly ones....they look great layered over other colors... ;)
Anyway, hope you all are having a great time, I'll leave you with a few more pictures and I'll see you in the next post! ;)

Gradient Blue Sea

Hello lovely people! If you dont love gradient manicures, then you've never tried one out...they're so much fun and your nails look so wicked! This look was inspired by the sea and the waves...it was such a fun summer look..I wish I could have one more month of summer! Polishes used: the darkest color - Max Factor Max Effect Mini Nail Polish No.37 'Prussian Blue' (great great color, it's such a lovely dark blue), then Deborah Milano Pret A Porter No.29 'Blue Paradise', and the white on the tips - dm No.115 (since they redesigned the bottles some time ago, I have been in love with their polishes, I'm a sucker for great bottles!)
See you in the next post! ;)
